Equal Area is a free page published by PaintedApp, LLC. It has no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. This page says exactly what leaves your device when you use it, and where it goes.

What Is Sent

Nothing you do on the page is sent anywhere. The country outlines, the formulas and the fonts are all part of the page’s own files, so choosing a projection, carrying a country or reading the scale at the pointer happens entirely in your browser. The page makes no request to any other site.

Your Location

The page never asks for your location and has no way to use it.

The Address Bar

The projection, the ellipse spacing, the country and where you carried it are written into the page’s address, so a link you copy opens the same view for whoever receives it. Nothing in the address is sent to us.

What Is Kept

PaintedApp, LLC keeps nothing about you. The page stores no cookies and nothing in your browser’s local storage. A service worker keeps a copy of the page’s own files in your browser so it opens without a network; it holds nothing about you, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

The page is hosted by Vercel, Inc. Like any web host, Vercel receives each request for the page’s files, including your IP address, and keeps short-lived request logs to run and protect the service. We do not use those logs to identify or follow anyone.

Children

The page collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If what the page sends or keeps ever changes, this page will change first, with a new date at the top.
